The ionization and excitation of neutral oxygen in structurally inhomogeneous models of quiet prominences are considered. Good agreement is found between the calculated intensities of the 130.22, 130.49, 130.60, and 135.56 nm lines and observations performed on Skylab. It is concluded that the O I lines are excited by radiation in the cold components of quiet prominences.
