Plane, periodic stellar orbits in the spiral gravitational field of the
Galaxy superimposed on the axisymmetric background potential are studied
in the epicyclic approximation. The superposition of such orbits is
illustrated to demonstrate the response of the stellar system to an
imposed spiral density perturbation.
