A solar model with weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs) is discussed which predicts helioseismological p-mode separations that are reduced by 10 percent compared to standard solar models, a result consistent with observations. A detailed comparison of the solar asymptotic p-mode frequency separations is presented using both the standard and WIMP models of the solar core. The results show that the WIMP model is the only model known to be in agreement with both solar neutrino and oscillation measurements. The implications of the WIMP models for g-modes are discussed and compared to other models, and it is shown that unambiguous g-mode measurements will provide an immediate test to distinguish between the models.
