A numerical three-dimensional model of the thermosphere is used to calculate the evolution in time of global disturbances of the neutral composition and thermospheric winds from high-latitude heat sources. The effect of thermospheric disturbances on charged particles is calculated by integration of equations for the charged components along the geomagnetic-field flux tubes, situated at different distances from the source.
