Spectra of the quasar S5 0014+81 (ze = 3.38) have been obtained from 3500 to 6500 Å. 174 absorption lines are found in this region. Low- and high-ionized metal absorption lines have been identified in 5 absorption line systems at za = 1.112, 2.345, 2.671, 2.992, and 3.200. The authors suggest that the system with za = 1.112 originates in the disk of an intervening galaxy. Moreover, there is tentative evidence for the presence of 11 absorption line systems containing only H I Lα/Lβ lines or Lα and C IV doublet in the spectrum of S5 0014+81. The results are discussed.
