Far-infrared properties are derived for a sample of over 200 galaxies in seven clusters: A262, Cancer, A1367, A1656 (Coma), A2147, A2151 (Hercules), and Pegasus. The optically selected sample consists almost entirely of "IR-normal" galaxies. None of the cluster galaxies has log LFIR> 11.0 L_sun;, in marked contrast to the situation for field galaxies, in which at least 20% have FIR luminosity greater than 1011L_sun;. Only one sample galaxy has a FIR-to-blue luminosity ratio greater than 10. The results of this survey are interpreted in the context of models that propose various components of the integrated FIR emission spectra. It is suggested that, in general, the FIR emission from cluster galaxies is dominated by that of cool dust associated with atomic hydrogen heated by the general interstellar radiation field with a lesser contribution from warm dust associated with star-formation processes.
