Scientific paper
We consider cluster formation in a variety of contexts (i.e. globular clusters, open clusters and small N groups) examining the similarities and differences in the process in different environments and on different scales. We also highlight the most recent theoretical work on the subject, driven by the availability of detailed observations of clustering in nearby star forming regions.
