The neutron star redshift data base provided by the recent measurements of gamma-ray burst pair annihilation lines in the range 300-511 keV is considered. Despite the controversies surrounding their reality and interpretations, it is shown that there is tentative evidence to support a neutron star redshift range of 0.2-0.5, with the highest concentration in the narrow range 0.25-0.35. Combined with mass data from X-ray and binary pulsars, these data favor the softer equation of state neutron star models, in particular equations of state A, D, E, F of the Arnett-Bowers (1977) catalog. This, in turn, constrains the quadrupole vibration frequency of neutron stars to the narrow range 2.2-2.9 kHz and the gravitational radiation damping time to 0.1-0.25 s. Prospects of detecting gravitational waves from events like that of March 5, 1979 are also discussed.
