The line strengths and the probabilities of inversion-rotational
transitions of the hydroxonium ion H3O+ are
calculated. Excpected optical thicknesses of typical interstellar clouds
are estimated for H3O+ lines of radio astronomical
interest (λ = 0.8 - 1.0 mm).
