The prediction of inverse Compton X-rays based on VLBI data is made for a large sample (56 sources) of compact radio sources selected at 5 GHz. In 6 cases the authors find a significant deficit of measured over expected X-ray emission, commonly interpreted as evidence for bulk relativistic motion. The strongest discrepancy, however, occurs for the two apparently stationary components in the quasar 4C 39.25.
