The standard diameters in the D25 system derived in Papers I and II, augmented by newly determined diameters on ESO-B plates, are used to derive the transformation formulae needed to reduce the photographic diameters and axis ratios of galaxies in the ESO-B survey and the Southern Galaxy Catalogue (SGC) to the standard system. The approximate limiting isophotes in the two catalogues and their dependence on morphological type are determined. A time dependence of the limiting isophotal level is detected in the ESO-B lists, similar to that previously found and corrected in the SGC. No significant dependence on mean surface brightness is detected, at least in the small range covered by the standard galaxies.
