Following the discovery by Lennon et al. (1992) of anomalously weak carbon lines in the Galactic B-supergiants, a search was conducted for the signatures of CNO processed material in the atmospheres of these stars. It was found that the NII line strengths around spectral type B2 correlate with luminosity, but exhibit a clear anticorrelation with the CII lines. It is suggested that this trend may be evidence for CNO processed material contaminating the atmospheres of the most luminous stars. The CNO processing signature was found to be most pronounced in the more luminous supergiants, in qualitative agreement with stellar evolution calculations (provided that such stars have passed through a previous red-supergiant phase of evolution).
