An analytical solution is derived for the observed period and phase
variations for a star radiating like a pulsar, which is also freely
precessing like an axisymmetrical rigid body. The disagreements which
arose between Kohabka (1987) and Bisnovatyi-Kogan et al. (1987)
concerning this problem are clarified.
