The possibility of detecting Vorontsov-Vel'yaminov's strings, rectilinear segments of spiral arms, in the Galactic disk is discussed. Data on the distribution of HII regions and superclouds over the entire Galactic disk and data on Cepheids within 7 kpc of the Sun are used to consider the geometry of the Carina-Sagittarius arm, which is delineated most clearly by these indicators of spiral structure. An analysis of the data on HII regions and superclouds shows that, by analogy with other galaxies, the existence of rectilinear segments may be suspected in the distribution of these objects along the arm. The Cepheid data for the Carina branch of the Carina-Sagittarius arm are also consistent with the assumption that it is rectilinear. However, no definitive conclusion about the existence of strings can be reached because of the uncertainty in the distances to HII regions and superclouds and because of the possible selection effects in the observed Cepheid distribution. Ways of a further observational study of the problem are outlined.
