Soft X-ray irradiation of low density cold matter K-ionizes neutral
nitrogen. The full ionization process followed by Auger decay populates
the excited states of NIII and NIV ions. NIII and NIV uv lines are
therefore produced directly with comparable intensities. Some observable
intensity ratios are evaluated.
