Based on our near infrared low resolution spectroscopic observations of RAFGL 595 and RAFGL 954 using a circular variable filter spectrophotometer attached on the 1.26m IR telescope of the Beijing Astronomical Observatory at Xinglong Station, we confirm that their central stars are carbon-rich. According to the CO observations, the mass loss rate from RAFGL 595 is quite high and this coincides with the fact that in POSS 'O' plate its optical counterpart can not be found. The situation of RAFGL 954 is similar to RAFGL 595. We confirm that both RAFGL 595 and RAFGL 954 are optically thick carbon stars.
