The MACKKL photospheric model and the latest oscillator strengths are
used to obtain a solar abundance of iron close to the meteoritic value
N(Fe) = 7.51 +/- 0.01. This helps to eliminate the discrepancy between
photospheric and meteoritic abundances of iron.
