Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) obscuration is a crucial component in AGN-unification models, and in being able to reproduce the hard peak of the X-ray Background spectrum. Through this study, we are seeking to test these models by means of analyzing obscuration effects in the X-ray, infrared, and optical. With AGN dominating background X-ray sources, our initial sample was drawn from medium-depth archival Chandra observations, generating a large flux-limited sample of serendipitous X-ray sources (>10,000) in order to probe the AGN populations and search for potential, obscured AGN. The infrared component came from archival Spitzer data, where 3000 ( 2000) of the X-ray sources were detected in at least two IRAC bands (all 4 bands). For the optical component, greater than 70% (45%) of the Chandra observations also had full coverage within the SDSS DR7 imaging (spectroscopic) footprint, yielding >7000 optical counterparts and 170 spectra. In analyzing the sample, we have identified those sources with particularly hard X-ray signatures, having the greatest potential for being members of the elusive class of obscured AGN. We explore the relationships between the mid-infrared, optical, and X-ray properties among the extreme AGN classes in order to understand the physical mechanisms and effects of obscuration on AGN unification.
