Aperture optical spectroscopy and deep-CCD optical images of the new narrow-line Seyfert 1/Ring AGN IRAS 03202-5150 are presented here for the first time. The nuclear emission line spectrum of IRAS 03202-5150 shows relatively narrow permitted and forbidden emission lines and also shows strong high-ionization emission lines of forbidden Fe VII 6087. The deep CCD broadband R optical image shows clearly a very compact nucleus with a weak bar, surrounded by an external ring and several possible companions. In the far-IR IRAS 03202-5150 has a very flat far-IR spectral index. The observed IR characteristics of this object place it among the QSO/Seyfert 1. It is concluded that the observed optical and far-IR properties are consistent with an obscured Seyfert 1 nucleus, and that the formation of the ring may be the result of orbital resonances due to the central bar and/or due to oval distortion.
