Detailed study of the planet, using results from radar and in situ observations obtained by the U.S. and U.S.S.R. satellites data. After a description of the various Venus spacecrafts that have either analyzed the planet's atmosphere or landed on its surface, data are given on the composition of the cloud cover, hypothesizing on the possibility of water vapor or sulfuric acid contents. The surface temperature is approx. 750 K and the pressure is 95 atm. Surface luminosity, the greenhouse effect, and dynamic processes in the atmosphere are also discussed.
