The theories of Hawking are reviewed, focusing on quantum gravity and quantum cosmology. The application of Einstein's theory, quantum theory, and the Heisenberg uncertainty principle to cosmology is discussed. The concepts of quantum chaos, wormholes, and baby universes, and the cosmological constant are examined. Also, the reactions of other physicists to Hawking's theories are considered.
