Data is presented in support of the theory (Frank et al, 1986) that the earth is under bombardment by icy, 100-ton comets. Observations were made by rapidly slewing a telescope at a rate calculated to match the predicted motion of the arriving comets. The observations agreed with the predicted appearance of the comets as 18th-magnitude streaks 20 pixels long on about one in every ten exposures. Frank's theory of the existence of the comets is discussed in detail and other experiments to study the theory are considered.
