The large scale (10 - 100 h-1Mpc) distribution of high-redshift (1.8 < z < 2.6) quasars has been measured using a new quasar survey. Six UK Schmidt objective prism plates (≡200 deg2) have been searched for emission-line quasars using automated techniques. A total of 862 quasars was found to a mean limiting magnitude of BJ ≡ 20 and equivalent widths ≥100 Å. The line identifications are 90 per cent reliable and the redshift accuracy is Δzrms = ±0.018. Statistical analysis of the survey revealed no evidence for clustering on scales of 10 - 100 h-1Mpc. The measurements were used to place an upper limit on any clustering present by comparison with simulations of clustered populations.
