The two-component model of the cosmic medium consists of (1) a moving background plasma with a frozen-in magnetic field and (2) an ensemble of magnetic clouds moving at a velocity that differs from that of the background plasma. Cosmic-ray energy losses in this model are considered; the propagation of electrons in the interstellar medium is considered as an example.
