Solar Microwave Radiation: Polar Caps

Scientific paper

Solar microwave radiation sources have been studied at the Metsähovi Radio Research Station. Several periods of observations have been organized at 37 GHz in 1986, 1987 and 1988. Enhanced radiation has been detected at high solar latitudes. Radiation sources appear close to both south and north pole of the Sun. First analyses of measurements indicate that the average synodic rotation velocity of these sources is about 10 degrees/day.
