The repulsive properties of the Kerr space-time solution and their relationship with the rotational anisotropy of the curvature are investigated. From a comparative study of the Komar mass integral and the dynamics of freely falling particles, an effective 'mass' is deduced which accounts for the insurgence of the repulsive effects by taking negative values.
