Observations are reported of two transitions at 1665 and 1612 MHz, respectively, within the ground state of interstellar OH toward the Orion nebula. Data analysis indicates near-classic Zeeman patterns strongly suggestive of a magnetic field of the order of several milligauss in the vicinity of the Orion maser source. Departures from a classic Zeeman effect are described and interpreted in terms of two maser sources operating in magnetic fields having slightly different longitudinal components, each of which produces Zeemansplit radiation in only one sense of polarization.
