Scientific paper

The paper considers the photometric aspect of a facular model with horizontal inhomogeneities. These inhomogeneities can be modeled by a shift along the sun's radius of neighboring (in terms of heliocentric angle) photospheric regions by the value of the optical depth (Delta tau). It is shown that the calculated facula contrast curve in the continuum depends strongly on the size ratio of rising and sinking elements and on their relative shift in terms of optical depth.
