Astrometric observations obtained by various techniques in different places may be easily compared if they are homogeneous. Regarding catalogs, theory of Earth motions and constants, the preceding condition is verified. It is however not always true for the mathematical methods used to compute apparent places. To remove this inhomogeneity the author proposes to create a bank of programs. This bank should be used as a reference, and should be included, for example, in the CDS data bank which is very easily accessible from observatories.
