Three astrometric catalogues will be constructed in the ten years to come, in connection with space missions. A summary is given of the contents of these three catalogues: HIPPARCOS main mission catalogue, TYCHO catalogue and the Space Telescope Guide Star Selection System. The accuracy expected and the number of stars included in the results represent a major advance in the field.
