In new astrometric techniques involving the distance measurement among the stations, the effects caused by luni-solar tidal force and the change in the rotational centrifugal force should be considered for the deformation of the elastic Earth. The former is called the earth tide and the latter is called the earth pole tide. In this paper, the complete formulae for calculating the station displacements caused by the earth tide and the earth pole tide are given and the computation for Shanghai and Wulumuqi stations is carried out as an example.
