Spectra with a dispersion of 40 Å/mm of seven Cepheids in the Small Magellanic Cloud have been classified on the MK system, and their types compared with their T1-T2 colors. Their spectral types are found to be 4.1±1.3 or 2.6±1.3 subtypes too early for their colors for reddenings of 0.02 and 0.06 in B-V, respectively. Transforming this difference into a metal deficiency yields [A/H] = -0.65 or -0.56 for each reddening value. Radial velocities of the seven Cepheids have been measured and compared with the velocity of neutral hydrogen in the same line of sight. No significant difference between the Cepheid and H I velocities was found.
