Sun: Observations, Solar Activity, Sunspots

The paper presents the observations collected by the UAI's Sun Section through 2002. The good quality of the results obtained by the observers confirms the high standard of their observations. The activity of the Sun is described in terms of number of spots, Wolf Number (NW), group's number and their area. 2132 daily reports were received, with a mean of 5.8 observations/day, covering more than 84% of the year. The decreasing in the photospheric activity after the maximum reached in 2000 was definitely ascertained.
