We present here some of the observational results of supernova remnant (SNR) obtained with the ASCA satellite. In particular, we will focus here on the relatively young SNRs and their related topics. The ASCA has good energy resolving power which reveals the nature of the X-ray spectra. There are two types of spectra: a thin thermal emission and a synchrotron emission. Their X-ray spectra give us a good diagnostics of the plasma. Generally, they can be fitted by using model spectra not in collisional ionization equilibrium (CIE) condition but in non-equilibrium ionization condition (NEI). Some of them show gradients both in the temperature and in the abundance. The X-ray spectrum of young SNRs, like the Kepler's SNR, can be well fitted by the superposition of the fore shock component and the reverse shock component, both of which show gradients in various parameters: temperature, density, ionization parameter etc. Cassiopeia-A, another typical young SNR, shows not point symmetric but axial symmetric both in the intensity profile and in the line center energy profile. This suggests the Doppler motion of the plasma about several thousands km/sec. SN1006 is an enigmatic young SNR. ASCA discovered that the shell region produced a synchrotron spectrum while the interior produced a thermal emission. This can be understood as a possible site of the high energy cosmic rays. The ASCA GIS has good timing resolution with moderate spectral resolution. It showed a high performance of the pulsar detection. We found that several young SNRs were associated with X-ray pulsars in them.
