The distribution of Type I and Type II supernovas in spiral galaxies is discussed relative to the light-absorbing dust layer, and the radial distribution of the two types is compared. In spiral galaxies, the layer within which Type I supernovas occur is less thick than the dust layer. Type I and Type II supernovas have equal density gradients, which supports the conclusion that the two types conform to similar z-distributions.
