Results are reported for radio telescopic observations of small-scale brightness fluctuations at wavelengths of 2 to 4 cm in the chromosphere of the quiet sun. These fluctuations are found to have characteristic dimensions of about 12 sec and a flux density corresponding to 0.00001 of the total solar flux. Data analysis shows that the fluctuations are most likely associated with a radio-range chromospheric mesh (supergranulation, spicules, spicule clusters).
