A cosmological model is derived from a bimetric Machian theory of gravitation under the assumption that the universe is filled with pure dust matter. In the analysis, the symmetry properties are imposed on the energy-momentum tensor, which may be subject to a direct observation, rather than on the metric tensor, the symmetry properties of which follow as a consequence of the gravitational equations. It is noted that the cosmological metric tensor obtained satisfies the cosmological requirements of Infeld and Schild (1945, 1946), for a universe in which the fundamental particles are at rest. Solutions of the cosmological equations for the Hubble, deceleration and sigma0 parameters appear to require the existence of intergalactic matter.
