Results of very-long-baseline interferometry studies have been used to generate models of extragalactic radio sources with a wide range of important sizes. Most analyses use only the measured amplitude of the visibility function. A set of elliptical Gaussian components is selected and a least-squares calculation determines the optimum parameters. Models of the sources 3C 120, 3C 273, and 3C 279 are discussed. All three sources have exhibited regular expansions in size. Although there have been jumps to a small size or 'point', a regular contraction has never been observed. The regular increases in apparent angular size are most simply explained as relativistic expansion.
