We present results on the temporal and spectral variability of the flat spectrun radio quasar (FSRQ) during 6 years of EGRET observations. We summarize recent modeling results on all available simultaneous broadband spectra of the source during the EGRET observations. We find that the spectral energy distributions of the source are most suitably reproduced by a two-component model, in which the target photons are produced externally to the gamma-ray emitting region, but also including an SSC component. We observe that during the higher gamma-ray states, the bulk Lorentz factor of the jet increases, possibly causing an intensification of the energies of the electrons giving rise to the synchrotron peak decreases, as the source goes from a low to a high gamma-ray state, in contrast to that observed in high-frequency peaked BL Lac objects (HBLs).
