The physical conditions in which two-photon emission is a nonnegligible contributor to the continuous spectrum of hydrogen have been examined. This process can make a significant contribution to the continuous spectral energy distribution for electron densities as high as 10 to the 11th per cu cm and for temperatures and geometrical thicknesses that are of astrophysical interest. Quantitative results which define the region of parameter space over which the emission from this process might be detectable are presented.
