Recent spectroscopic observations of Sco X-1 show conclusively that orbital velocity variations of about 0.787 days and a range of about 120 km per sec are present in both the He II and H emission lines. The most probable masses are less than 2 solar masses for each star. It is suggested that the nondegenerate companion is somewhat evolved from the main sequence.
