The authors present an overview of the theoretical models for the narrow-emission-line region of the active galactic nuclei which take into account the coupled effect of shocks and photoionization. From the emission-line intensities previously obtained, the [O III] λ5007 line profile is calculated assuming, for a given object, that the emitting clouds have different velocities and are illuminated by the ionizing radiation with different intensities.
