In this poster, we study the effects of errors in the measurement of fringe amplitude and phase arising from instrumental effects as well as calibration on the imaging capability of the Space Interferometry Mission. Several plausible error models taking into account for example the poisson noise in the photon counts and errors arising from delay line instabilities are presented. Using SIMsim-II, a software package developed to simulate imaging with SIM, we study the resulting degradation in the reconstructed images using simple measures like dynamic range and image fidelity. The aim is to explore the imaging sensitivity of SIM and develop an efficient observing strategy.
