Spectroscopic observations of the motions in the nuclear and/or central regions of 21 relatively nearby galaxies were obtained using a 3-m reflector. It is found that rapid nuclear rotation on a scale of 7-8 pc does not occur in all the galaxies, and that rapid central-region rotation occurs in six out of 14 of the non-Seyfert galaxies in the 2.5-46-kpc distance range. The near-nuclear velocity slopes of four of the galaxies are shown to be significantly larger than reported previously.
