A program in India of balloon-borne hard X-ray observations utilizing
high sensitivity, large area (0.5 sq m) proportional counter telescopes,
for the temporal and spectral study of cosmic X-ray sources is
presented. Details of the payload, its flight performance, and results
obtained during various balloon flights are discussed.
