Scientific paper

The potential which infrared spectroscopic techniques provide for
studying interstellar process is demonstrated. Several examples are
given. The data were obtained at UKIRT, using its frequency-chopped
Fabry-Perot spectrometer and its seven-channel cooled grating
spectrometer.
