Existing gaps in the biography of Philip Feselius could be filled
through the finding of his baptismal entry and other entries in church
registers. They permit a glimpse into the social network of the 16th
century educated middle class of the city of Strasbourg, which permitted
that the son of a ropemaker became the personal physician of a margrave.
