The Einstein Slew and EMSS surveys represent the two most important X-ray selected samples currently in use for studies of the properties of various classes of active galaxies. Here we present an update on the blazar content of both these surveys, concentrating particularly on the Slew. We have identified six new BL Lac objects and have new redshifts for over a dozen objects in the Slew sample. We have also identified for the first time significant numbers of emission line blazars (often called flat-spectrum radio quasars or FSRQs) in both the Slew and EMSS samples. The search for these objects was prompted by the discovery of a large population of X-ray bright FSRQs in two ROSAT selected samples, DXRBS and RGB. The distribution of X-ray to radio flux ratios of the emission-line blazars in the Einstein samples is consistent with the results of the DXRBS and RGB surveys. Finally, we discuss the complete sample properties of the Slew BL Lacs and FSRQs, as well as the EMSS FSRQs.
