The autocorrelation functions (ACFs) of 37 absorption spectra of quasars
with greater than 20 lines are examined. It is shown that there are
specific correlation maxima at the initial parts of the majority of the
ACFs; these maxima correspond to the locations of the wavelength ratios
of the C IV, N V, and Al III doublets.
