A continuum mapping at 1100, 800, and 450 microns has been conducted for the Galactic center and its surroundings. The 2-pc ring is noted, as are three giant molecular clouds (GMCs). A ridge of emission lies along the plane, and apparently connects these complexes; narrow emission lines appear to link the northern and southern GMC complexes with the 2 pc ring, which shows a two-component structure. The point at which the emission lines join the ring coincide with the denser and more active parts of the ring.
